A
few years after The Dragons Den Dojo had been running as a licensed
Dojo, the first in Malta to be a privately owned building with all
the local permits to operate specifically as a Martial Arts School,
Christian and Roderick Brothers Bajada, Renshi were determined to go further
and form a Budo Association to bring Martial Arts in Malta in line
with the true meaning of Budo. This came along with the experience
that the brothers where gaining during invitations to attend
international Budo seminars with world known high Budo ranking
practitioners. At this stage Budo was far from understood on the
Island.
Several
discussions with other established educational institutions as well
as the consultation of educational systems were essential to the
main structure of this new association. Special Manuals with
syllabus and other valuable information were designed for the
association. The association also includes a private book library
with a good collection of Budo related books that are recommended to
be read by the higher grade students. The association opened its
doors as a Classical Japanese Martial Arts Institute,
taking Martial Arts in Malta to the next level, the deep study of
Budo.
After
the student members of the association attain the desired technical
level, they are called upon to take a mat examination and are
afterwards graded and certified by the Renshi Brothers. They are
also observed and evaluated by our Dojo patron Hanshi Allan
Tatersall Soke Myo Shin Ryu during his visits in Malta. Gradings are
based on the students' characters, their technical skills and
theoretical set standards. Upon reaching the desired standards, the
students will also be recommended as eligible members within the
Prestigious and Elite Japanese Budo Society the Dai Nippon Butoku
Kai of Kyoto, Japan.
The
Classical Budo Association Malta has as its Honbu (Headquarters) the
Dragon's Den Dojo and is rapidly growing in strength whilst serving
its founding purpose as a Budo Institute, striving for the
development of higher technical skills and education within the true
meaning of the Japanese Martial Arts Way, and with greater
commitments for excellence whilst preserving the Classical Martial
Virtues.
