Budo has a very important role on children Budo-ka. It gives them courage and confidence. It is not about violence, it's about self-defense, self-respect and respect to others. First thing we teach students is to avoid fighting and how to avoid fighting.

With a combination of self-defense, self-respect and respect to others, the result is discipline. Discipline is not about making children mechanical robots, it's not programming children. You teach them discipline by being respectful to them, showing them what is right and what is wrong. Discipline has to come first from their teacher.

Making your children aware of bullies is a very important role for a parent or guide, but its even important that they don't become bullies themselves. Children make new friends and learn to associate with others. After all that is what 'Association' means. That is one of the highest outcomes we all get in Budo training, not just the students but all of the Association from the newest student to the president of the same Association.

Martial Arts training helps children grow physically and mentally stronger and healthier.
