Teaching in Germany 2011 - 27th to 29th May

Christian and Roderick Brothers Bajada, Shihan-Dai, Renshi were once again invited to teach Jujutsu at the annual German Martial Arts Seminar, the Bundeslehrgang des Verband asiatischer Kampfkünste e.V. This year’s Seminar, which marked the 10th Edition, was held at the 'Hornisgrinde Halle', in Achern, Baden-Württemberg, within the Black Forest area.

Five students of the Classical Budo Malta joined the Brothers for this trip, including two Instructors who assisted the Brothers on the mats. These were Oliver Mifsud Sensei Nidan and Antoine Portelli Sensei Shodan, Daniel Saliba Shodan-Ho, Joseph Bajada Nikyu and Matthew Sammut Yonkyu.

The Teachers for this year’s seminar included: Rudolf Gabert Shihan Hachidan Kyoshi Jujutsu (Germany), Christian and Roderick Bajada Shihan-Dai Godan Renshi Jujutsu (Malta), Gabriel Maradan Shihan Rokudan Judo (France), Patrick Dimayuga Shihan Hachidan Hanshi Aikido / Aiki-Jo (France), Pietro Paterna Shihan Rokudan Renshi Aikido (Italy), Thomas Haumuller Shihan Godan Renshi Aikijutsu (Germany), Jean Pierre Artige Sensei Yondan Tasshi Aikijutsu (Germany), Alexander Neidhart Sensei Yondan Renshi Karate-Do (Switzerland), Patrice Merckel Shihan Godan Renshi Karate-Do (France), Rolf Gerisch Shihan Godan Renshi Karate-Do (Germany), Michael Brauer Sensei Godan Renshi Hanbojutsu (Germany), Vitali Herter 3dan Kyosah-Nim Taekwondo (Germany), Dick Kevort Shihan Hachidan Kyoshi Karate-Do Nanadan Kobudo (France) and Nigel Tew Godan Renshi teaching Iaido on behalf of Allan Tattersall Soke Hachidan Hanshi (United Kingdom) who could not be present for this event.

The Training areas were divided into sections according to grades and the students were given the opportunity to train in all styles offered on the occasion. Mat 1 hosted White to Green Belts, Mat 2 - Blue to Brown Belts, Mat 3 - Black Belts (Dan Grades) and another Area was specifically dedicated to the Weapon Arts.

The Bajada Brothers Renshi conducted a total of four Jujutsu sessions, three sessions on Saturday which consisted of a session for White belts to Green Belts, a second session for Black Belts (Dan Grades) and an extra session for Mixed Grades. On Sunday a final session for Blue to Brown Belts was held. The students were guided in a vast array of techniques specially designed for the occasion covering from basic and intermediate to advanced throws, holds, locks, chokes, counters and combinations. Emphasis was made on the speed, precision and effectiveness of each technique.
