After the Koshu Kai, Christian Bajada Renshi and Roderick Bajada Renshi were called upon in surprise to be mat-tested once again by Tesshin Hamada Hanshi, vice president of the Dai Nippon Butkou Kai. This consisted of 3 parts: Nagewaza, Katatedori/Ryotedori and Tantodori, all from a series of attacks by highly-trained Budo-ka. One of the students, Melchior Pace, was also called upon in surprise and mat-examined in the same way. The Rensei Taikai was officially held the following day. Budo-ka from all around the world demonstrated fine skills in a variety of Japanese Budo Arts including Karatedo, Aikijutsu, Aikido, Jujutsu, Judo, Kendo, Okinawa Kobudo, Iaijutsu and Iaido. For this occasion, the Maltese Team, lead by the Renshi brothers, demonstrated in Jujutsu, Jojutsu, Hojojutsu, Tessenjutsu, Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaijutsu and Seitei Iaido. At the end of the Rensei Taikai, and as a result of the previous day's mat-examinations, Bajada brothers were proclaimed by Hamada Hanshi as Godan in Jujutsu and awarded the Shihan-Dai Title. Melchior Pace was awarded the Title Shidoin. The Maltese team were also awarded another four honours, one as a team and three individual awards. Greece Rensei Taikai was yet another rich opportunity for the proud members of Dai Nippon Butoku Kai, who are aspiring to learn and advance in the noble Arts of the Samurai under his expertise Tesshin Hamada Hanshi, Leader of the International Division. Here, we would like to thank him once again. Thank you also to Kim Baylor Kyoshi, Secretary of DNBK ID, and her team for all their incessant work. We would also like to thank all Kenshoin and the Leaders who travelled from Honbu Japan to share their Budo knowledge with the international members, making this event even more priceless. Not to forget our Patron, Allan Tattersall Hanshi, whose teachings and guidance were present throughout even though he was unable to be with us in Greece, We would also like to thank Mr. Raymond Bajada, President of the Classical Budo Malta, father to the Renshi Brothers, as the engine behind all the success of Classical Budo Malta up to this day and forth. Thank you to all the members of the team for making this trip yet another success. |
